On a cold winter night, two beagles, Pepper and Cooper, walked along a snowy road in Bethel, Ohio. They had no home and needed a safe, warm place to rest. Pepper, the female dog, was pregnant, and Cooper stayed close to protect her.
Gus Kiebel, a wildlife officer, was driving home when he saw the dogs in the snow. He noticed they wore collars with name tags. Gus stopped his truck and gently approached them.
