In China, people celebrate the Double Ninth Festival on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month. It is a day for the elderly. On this day, people usually climb mountains and enjoy chrysanthemums. It is also a time for family to get together.
In the US, there is a day like the Double Ninth Festival. It’s called Grandparents’ Day. It is a day to celebrate grandparents. It is on the first Sunday in September after Labour Day. A few other countries also celebrate it.

People celebrate this day in different ways. Usually, people send cards, give gifts and do fun activities, such as going for a walk with their grandparents. Some people also send flowers called forget-me-not.
It is always important to respect your elders. Think about how much your parents have done for you. Remember that your grandparents helped them that much, too! How can you pay them back? Do they need your help now? Maybe they would just like to see you or hear you on the phone!
