A mouse saw a basket full of corn. He wanted to eat it. So he made a small hole in the basket. He squeezed in(挤进)through the hole. He ate lots of corn. He felt full and was very happy.
Then, he wanted to go back out through the small hole. But he failed because his belly was full. He tried again, but it was no use.
The mouse started crying. A rabbit passed by. She asked, “What happened, my friend?”
The mouse answered, “I made a small hole and went into the basket to eat the corn. But now I can't go back out through the hole.”
The rabbit said, “It's because you ate too much. Wait for a night and your belly will become smaller.” Then, the rabbit left.
The mouse fell asleep in the basket. The next morning, his belly was small again. But he wanted to eat some more corn. He forgot all about getting out of the basket. So he ate more corn and his belly became big again.
After eating, the mouse remembered that he had to go out. But now he could not. So he thought, “I will just have to wait until tomorrow.”
