Most of us know the Chinese song “Descendants of the Dragon”（《龙的传人》）. We often call ourselves the descendants of the dragon. But why do we choose this animal?
Ancient Chinese people worshiped the dragon. More than 8,000 years ago, people from different tribes believed animals, such as snakes, deer and eagles, could protect them. Many big and strong tribes believed in snakes. They later combined the snake with other animals. This created the dragon.
