Kids run in the mud (泥). They climb over walls. They carry heavy things. About twelve thousand kids from 4 to 14 years old took part in the Spartan Kids Race(斯巴达勇士儿童赛) in the World Park.
The Spartan Race is named after the Spartans from ancient Greece(古希腊). The Spartans were great soldiers(战士). They were very strong and good at fighting.
The first Spartan Kids Race in Beijing was held in 2017. Both kids and their parents loved it. “Doing this can help them become braver and get better at working out problems,” said the organizer of the race.
“One task was to cross the mud pool. I couldn’t find a way at first,” said Wu Taiji, a 10-year-old boy from Beijing. “But when I saw another kid cross it by diving, I found my own way to do it.”
Mr Su, father of a 5-year-old girl, said his daughter enjoyed the race. “Usually, she doesn’t like getting dirty. But she didn’t care about it this time.”
