Last year, there was a charity bazaar in Sunshine Middle School. It was really successful because we not only raised enough money but also made more people understand the meaning of helping others.
For the charity bazaar, each class chose a theme or designed a slogan(标语) that they wanted to show. Then students decorated their booths(展位). Students prepared many things for the charity sale. Some brought their toys while others brought some storybooks. To be honest, parting with their lovely toys was a little hard. One of the students said, “I have owned a teddy bear for 6 years. It brought good memories to me. I sold it because I wanted to pass the feeling of joy to others.”
The charity bazaar was successful. Many visitors came to the event. They said that they were excited and happy to be part of the event.
In fact, it’s not the first time for most of us to help others. A student told me that his family sell out old things of their house twice a year and give money to the charity. What’s more, our school also holds charity shows and activities every year. When asked why our school does this, the words of a teacher touched me greatly. He said that as a student, it’s a good way to learn knowledge, but being kind is more important than being a student with high grades.
