Ⅲ. 阅读理解(每题2分,满分16分)
(2024·绍兴二模)A
For many of us, there's nothing better than burying our head in a good book. Whether it's a crime story or a biography of someone's amazing life, it's good to read a book to break from the worries of everyday life and help us relax. Maybe that's why some of them are actually regarded as a way to treat the sickness.
It's known that reading is good for us. It can be educational, and, as some say, it can open the mind. A good novel can make us happy or sad, or make us cry as we feel pity for the characters. The power of books was realized a few years ago by the British Charity Reading Agency(BCRA), who published a list of books that doctors could offer to patients, dealing with different diseases. It called this “bibliography(参考文献)” and it has become so successful that it's about to be used for educating children as well.
Professor Philip Davis studies the effects of books at Liverpool University and is the writer of a book called Reading for Life. He studies people in reading groups and found that reading has artistic value that has the best effect. He said that when reading something for pleasure, the brain begins to work from different parts, and it gets excited, and you can see the brain coming to life.
Of course, it's easy in our smartphone generation to put away a good book and play with our phones instead. But opening up books could be a simple way to help increase or keep our mind health. It's thought they can help you set goals and find the keys. And they may allow you to see that embarrassing situation you've been worried about for weeks by standing in others' shoes.
If you're not an experienced reader, it can be hard to know where to begin. If the Reading Agency book list doesn't interest you, you could read book reviews, visit a library or bookshop or ask a friend. Once you've found the right text, you'll lose yourself in it! And if you still love your technology, you could always use an e - reader.
26. Who may have benefited(受益) from the books of the BCRA?
A. Doctors.
B. Patients.
C. Nurses.
D. Visitors.
语言能力分析能力27. Which opinion will Professor Philip Davis probably agree with?
A. Parents should offer children different books.
B. Readers may never get their brains excited.
C. We had better read books we're interested in.
D. Young people can play with phones instead.
28. What does the underlined word “they” in Paragraph 4 refer to?
A. Readers.
B. Smartphones.
C. Writers.
D. Books.
语言能力推断能力29. Why did the writer write this passage?

文化意识跨文化交流The world knows Sherlock Holmes because of the British writer Arthur Conan Doyle and his detective book series about Holmes. But the West knows Di Renjie or Judge Dee, China's Sherlock Holmes, thanks to Dutch sinologist(汉学家)Robert van Gulik and his great work Celebrated Cases of Judge Dee. Robert came to know Dee, a character based on the historical figure Di Renjie from the Tang dynasty, and the crime novel Di Gong An when he was working in China in the 1940s. He had great admiration for Dee, so he translated the book into English.
Between 1950 and 1967, Robert wrote 16 novels and 8 short stories. In the series, he described cases solved by Judge Dee. He also introduced plenty of culture and customs of the Tang dynasty.
Once the novel came out, it won Western people's hearts. It has been translated into over 10 languages and has sold millions of copies worldwide. It has greatly helped the Western people get a better understanding of China.
Besides, many adaptations(改编) inspired by the novel have been made around the world including China. The TV series, Judge Dee's Mystery, has been aired in China. Many people who watch it think highly of it.
