C
My dearest mother influenced my life greatly. As a teacher, she also had a strong influence on the lives of countless children in our town. Here are some memories of my dearest mother.
She was special to me because she treated me, the only boy of her five kids, the same way she treated her four daughters. She taught me the skills she taught her daughters. Even today I could never forget the day my mother called me to sit beside her at the sewing machine (缝纫机) and carefully showed me how to sew. That was the first day she began teaching me different kinds of stitches (针法). It was through her repeated demonstrations and patient explanation that I mastered the techniques of the different stitches finally. Later in senior high school, owing to my tidy and beautiful stitches, I was even admired by my female classmates.
How can I forget her cooking skills? When I was young, families in our community often took turns to throw a party with delicious food. Thanks to her great cooking skills and creativity, when it came to us, my mother was always able to present various homemade dishes. She also patiently taught me and my sisters how to bake cakes and biscuits, which were served as desserts and warmly welcomed by all.
My mother was also one of the best primary school teachers in our town. At school, she loved each student and was patient with them all. She kept encouraging the students who could not read well or had other difficulties. She believed that every child would achieve success if you take time to help them.
