Dear Adele,
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
答案: Dear Adele, Knowing from your last email that you are going to shoot a short video for your friends and relatives to introduce our high school life(现在分词短语作状语;that引导宾语从句), I can't agree more with your plan. Now I am writing to tell you my recommendations in detail. First of all, the first place that I recommend you to shoot(定语从句)is our beautiful campus, from which you can learn about the surroundings of our school(“介词 + 关系代词”引导的定语从句). In addition, it is a good idea to show the playground in particular, where we often take part in various activities after class, such as doing sports and some practice arranged by different clubs(定语从句). It is on the playground that students learn to interact, communicate, and cooperate with each other, foster friendships and create a supportive social network(强调句型). What do you think of it? Looking forward to your early reply. Yours sincerely, Li Hua
第二节 (满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Beside the sink, there was the flour bin and a bottle of buttermilk, the pale box of baking soda(小苏打), a box of dried grapes, a box of salt, and a tin of caraway(葛缕子) seeds. On the small table beneath the window, there was a bowl and a spoon and the measuring cup. There was as well a narrow card on which she had written in her careful hand the recipe for soda bread.
My mother said, “It is time that I learned a few things about cooking.” I stood in the kitchen doorway, full of unwillingness. Why? I wanted to ask.
My mother tied an apron(围裙) around my waist. “All right,” she said. She nodded toward the table, the bowl, the spoon and the recipe card. I looked at her. The morning sunlight through the single window lit the down on her cheeks. It showed her brown eyes had some green in them, too. And it also showed that on either side of her tall forehead her dark hair was turning gray.
“Go ahead,” my mother said. “Get started.” And when she saw me hesitate, she put her hand on my shoulder and turned me toward the table, the bowl and the spoon. “Read the recipe over and then gather your ingredients(原料),” she said slowly. “They're all right here. I'll watch and help.”
“Read it over,” my mother said. And I nodded, pretending to. The sun through the single window was bright in my eyes.
“Now gather what you need,” my mother said. I picked up the flour bin and brought it to the table. I picked up the buttermilk and the dry grapes. I went back for the salt and the tin of caraway seeds and then stood before the bowl and the spoon and the measuring cup. Beyond the window, beyond the gray bars of the fire escape, the washing my mother had done this morning was waving on the line — sheets, my school blouses and my father's shirts, which were hung upside down, their arms waving in a way that made me grow dizzy in sympathy.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;

“Haven't you forgotten something?” my mother said behind me.
Twenty - five minutes later, I took the bread out of the stove.

答案: “Haven't you forgotten something?” my mother said behind me. I looked at the ingredients I had lined up on the small table. “No,” I said. My mother took me by the shoulders and turned me around, saying[一串动作描写]“There's the baking soda. You'll have nothing at all if you don't have that.” I fetched the box of baking soda and then once again stood before the table. “Now what?” my mother asked. I shrugged. Then she told me to measure out the flour and read the recipe in front of me. I did as the recipe told me with my mother guiding me beside me(with复合结构). Finally I put them on the tray in the stove as I watched the clock(时间状语从句). Twenty - five minutes later, I took the bread out of the stove. A steaming loaf of soda bread came out of the oven. My mother smiled at me, proud of what I had accomplished(形容词短语作伴随状语,what引导宾语从句). As we sat at the kitchen table, enjoying our warm bread(现在分词短语作伴随状语), my mother told me stories about her own childhood and the times she had spent in the kitchen with her own mother(省略that/which的定语从句). She shared her own love of cooking and baking and encouraged me to continue learning. That day, I realized that cooking wasn't just about following a recipe or creating a meal, it was also about the memories and connections that were made while people were standing beside the stove(宾语从句).
