If your family are not sure what colour car to choose, the magical colour - changing car may be a good choice. A German car company showed its new colour - changing car at the Consumer Electronics Show held in the US.
The colour - changing paint technology mainly depends on E Ink(电子墨水). E Ink is widely used in e - readers, such as Kindle. With E Ink, people can change the car's colour simply with the touch of a button. At first, the colours were limited to white, black and grey, but now the car can take on over thirty different colours.
We all know that a white surface(表面) reflects a lot more sunlight than a black one. On hot sunny days, much energy is used to cool down the inside of the car. If the car is turned into a light colour, like white, more sunlight is reflected. In cooler weather, however, a darker skin is better, as it will help take in more heat from the sun. In both cases, colour changes help cut the energy use for the air conditioner(空调). E Ink technology itself saves energy, too. Unlike displays(电子显示器), it uses energy only to change colours. No energy is needed to keep the chosen colour staying there.
