Using a traditional wooden carrying pole, a tool farmers use to carry heavy loads, she packed her textbooks, clothes, and bedding into cloth bags. Balancing them on her shoulders, she walked the long road home alone.
A short video of her determined walk spread quickly online. Millions were inspired by her independence and simple strength. "It was just an ordinary way to carry my things — nothing special," Liu said, adding that she often uses a pole to help with farm work at home.

I hope kind-hearted people can direct their support to those who truly need it," she said. "I'm still just me, and the road ahead is mine to walk."
When asked about her dreams, Liu's eyes shone with determination. "I want to become a teacher. My own teachers planted seeds of hope in me. After college, I'll help others grow their dreams too."
For now, Liu works as a summer helper at a local restaurant, washing dishes and cleaning tables. "Earning my own money feels good," she smiled. "I'm proud to help my family with my efforts."
