Fixing a blue screen

Have you ever started up your Windows system and been greeted by a blue screen with a big “:(” emoticon (表情符号)? The error message reads, “Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart.”
This is never good. But before you call for help, you can try fixing the problem yourself.
First, think back to the last time you were on your computer. Did you install (安装) a new programme or piece of hardware? Did you update a driver or the system? If so, those changes are likely the culprit (罪魁祸首).
You can try undoing (撤销) those recent system changes. Open Control Panel, click “System and Security” and then select “System”. After that, choose “System Protection” and press “System Restore”. If this doesn’t fix the problem, don’t worry. You can repeat the steps above and choose an even older restore point.
Loose hardware can also cause a blue screen. Try reinserting (重新插入) everything—from the cables to the memory modules—into your computer. Is there still an error? You can also scan your computer for viruses. Some viruses cause blue screens.
The above steps usually fix the problem. But if they don’t, search for “Event Viewer” from the Windows search box. Check the System and Application logs (日志) for errors or warnings. They might provide more information about what caused the blue screen in your case.
