The National Museum for Modern Chinese Scientists

In a new museum in Beijing, some visitors are looking carefully at a piece of old clothes and a palm leaf fan(芭蕉扇). 1
Since the founding of the New China, lots of scientists have spent their time on national scientific growth. The National Museum for Modern Chinese Scientists is just for them. 2
There is a special corner for Zhou Peiyuan. 3 Here, you can imagine how he worked through a typewriter he used in the 1930s.
4 The letters were written by these scientists to their families. China has rich cultures and a long history of letter - writing. Letters were seen as valuable as gold in ancient times.
“5 Now, I feel closely connected to scientists. Scientists are ordinary people, but they achieve extraordinary things through their hard work,” says an elementary school student.
