How to improve your balance
如何提高你的平衡能力
Over time, you can improve your balance by exercising. Below, we've put together some simple activities that you can do at home.
Weight shifts(重心转移)
Stand with your feet hip - width apart(同髋距). Spread your weight equally over both legs. Then shift your weight to your right side and lift your left foot off the floor. Hold the position as long as you can keep good form, up to 30 seconds. After that, return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.
Single - leg balance
Stand with your feet hip - width apart. Spread your weight equally over both legs. Then put your hands on your waist. Lift your left leg off the floor and bend(弯曲) it back at the knee. Hold the position as long as you can keep good form, up to 30 seconds. After that, return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.
You can also reach out your foot as far as you can without touching the floor. For an added challenge, balance on one leg while standing on a pillow or other surface that isn't stable.
Bicep curls(二头肌弯曲) for balance
Stand with your feet hip - width apart. Spread your weight equally over both legs. Hold a dumbbell(哑铃) in your left hand with your palm(手掌) facing upward. Then lift your right leg off the floor and bend it back at the knee. Hold the position as long as you can keep good form while doing biceps curls, up to 30 seconds. Return to the starting position and repeat on the other side. For an added challenge, balance on the leg opposite(另一边的) the weight or while standing on a pillow or other surface that isn't stable.
