Yes, the phrase from The Lion King is to teach kids it's okay to move on from tragic loss and not to let it define you. It's an important lesson we learnt at a very young age. Sadness should not be ignored. It's important to feel sad, and that is why these films are so great. In Dumbo, Charlotte's Web and Bridge to Terabithia, we lose our beloved characters. This quite upsets kids, but it teaches them to accept sadness and makes something new out of it.
So, what is the message behind a sad kids' movie? It's meant to teach the audience, especially children, to gain their independence and how to free themselves from tragedy.
