跨体育与健康·游泳(2023重庆巴蜀中学月考)
①Can you swim? Do you know anything about swimming? Here is something about swimming.
②Swimming is a fun activity that can be done all year round with friends and family members in swimming pools. It’s also an important life skill because swimming can make you know how to be safe in the water.
③What’s more, it is a wonderful form of exercise. You might already be confident in the pool.
④However, if you haven’t learned to swim, you might be afraid in the water. You can contact your local swimming centers to ask about lessons for beginners. Lessons can be taken in groups or one-to-one with a coach. You can choose different lessons according to your needs.
⑤As a beginner, you will start with things like getting used to walking in deep water, holding your breath under the water and so on. Beginners often practice by holding the side of the pool and kicking their legs. It usually takes many months to be comfortable when swimming by yourself, so don’t give up easily. But you don’t have to spend all your time in the water learning to swim.
⑥When you have learned the basic skills of swimming, you will spend more time practicing the four swimming strokes (游泳姿势).
⑦Front crawl (自由泳) and breaststroke (蛙泳) are the two most popular strokes. To do these properly, you will be taught how to breathe by turning your head to the side and away from the water in front crawl, and by lifting your head from the water in breaststroke. Backstroke (仰泳) and butterfly are the other two swimming strokes.
