We all know carrots are good for our eyesight. A new study says grapes are also good for our eyes. Researchers from the National University of Singapore found that eating just a few grapes a day can help our eyes. This is especially so for people who are older. Jung Eun Kim, the lead researcher, said, “Our study shows that eating grapes influences eye health of humans, which is very exciting, especially with a growing aging population.” This is good news for people who dislike carrots.
Thirty-four people took part in the test for over 16 weeks. Half of them ate one-and-a-half cups of grapes every day; the other half ate a snack. Dr Kim did not tell the people whether she was testing the grapes or the snack. She thought that keeping this information secret would give better test results.
The results showed that eating grapes could protect retinal function(视网膜功能). The people who ate the grapes had improved muscle(肌肉) strength around the retina. The retina sends information about light to the brain. “Grapes are an accessible(容易获得的) fruit and eating 1½ cups a day can be beneficial(有益的) to your eyes,” said Dr Kim.

D
When I was a young girl, my parents took me camping in the Chilean Lake District every summer. Back then, before the age of the Internet, we had to depend on maps and guidebooks. So during our long and boring road trips, I kept myself active by looking at a map, reading about the towns we passed by, and asking my parents to stop to visit some places that caught my attention.
During one trip, I told them that I wanted to go everywhere in the world. After a few laughs, my dad mentioned the Travelers’ Century Club, a group for people who have visited 100 or more countries of the world. The idea of being a member of it came into my mind. I started asking my parents to go to another country. They laughed again and said they’d take me to Argentina, but I had to see more places of my own country before that. I happily accepted.
As I visited more places in my country Chile, I realized that the main reason for traveling should revolve around(围绕) what I would get out of a trip. Can I meet the locals, taste delicious foods or learn about nature? It shouldn’t be just about counting countries. Moving countries off a list doesn’t make my trips valuable. What really matters is the experiences I get from my trips.
66. How did the writer like her road trips?
A. Long and boring.
B. Dangerous and boring.
C. Short and exciting.
D. Exciting and valuable.
67. What did the writer’s father do after he knew his child wanted to travel around the world?
A. He bought several maps.
B. He gave a few laughs.

新素材 AI宠物
You’ve probably followed a few cute dogs and cats on social media(媒体). However, do you know that AI pets are also popular these days? They are just as cute as real dogs and cats. But they are a little bit more human-like.
AI pet Zhuangzhuang is a cute Shiba Inu(柴犬) who likes to eat and is playful. He is popular online. “Zhuangzhuang is actually a reflection of me,” his maker said. “His life kind of shows my own.”
To make the character more human-like, the young maker lets Zhuangzhuang do different everyday things. For example, during “hui nan tian” — the very wet weather in southern China in spring — Zhuangzhuang’s maker posted pictures of Zhuangzhuang sweeping a wet floor. Many people online showed pity for the poor dog.
“These pictures show everyday scenes, but when a pet like a real person appears in these daily scenes, it looks interesting,” Zhuangzhuang’s maker said.
Now more and more people are becoming AI pet bloggers(博主), which has led to strong competition in this industry.
