B
My dad lost his job several years ago. At the time, I thought it was not serious, but the fact was that the past experience changed my life.
Dad asked all of us to make some changes. Mom explained that I would have to stop taking STEAM lessons for a while. My brother Leo canceled the trip for we would have to cut out unnecessary things to save some money.
We all helped out in the next few months. Mom went back to work full - time. We had to cut out going to the movies. Leo got a part - time job to make money in his spare time. He even studied harder in college and got a fellowship (奖学金). As a high school student, I couldn't find a part - time job like my brother. I wanted to help so I took out all the money I had saved to help our family get through the difficulties. As my mom was busy doing the job, I took on the responsibility for doing housework. Though it was hard for us, no one gave up and we encouraged each other.
After a few months, Dad found a job. He thanked us for helping out. He said, “We all came together as a family.”
With time going by, I got to understand what Dad said and realized he was right. We were all sad about giving things up, but we did what we could to help each other. Even though it was bad that my dad lost his job, it showed me what a family is all about.
