According to the Chinese lunar calendar, November, December and January are winter months. They include six solar terms (节气): lidong (Beginning of Winter), xiaoxue (Minor Snow), daxue (Major Snow), dongzhi (Winter Solstice), xiaohan (Minor Cold) and dahan (Major Cold).
