答案 16—19
主题:人与社会·社会服务与人际沟通 素养:语言能力

To have a good conversation is happy for most people. But not every conversation is good. Some are uncomfortable silences while people try to think of something to say. Some conversations are one-sided. One person asks all the questions, and the other just gives one-word answers. A good conversation needs two or more people to keep it going.
To get the ball rolling in the conversation, ask something about the other person. “What do you like?” is a good question to start. Or simply say, “Tell me about yourself.” Most people love a chance to talk about themselves. As the other person begins to answer your question, look for common ground. If you ask someone about his weekend, the person could talk about what he did. Then you can share what you did and even your plans for the coming weekend.
When the other person is talking, it is important to be interested in him. Listen carefully and do not cut in (插话) to add your experience. When he finishes, ask some more questions. Don’t allow your eyes to wander (走神, 漫游) around as he talks. That gives the message that you are not really interested in him. Besides, if you are answering a question, don’t go on and on. Give an answer and stop. A good conversation is like a tennis game, in which the ball goes back and forth. Also, avoid yes/no questions, or they can stop a conversation. Instead, ask open-ended questions using what or why.
A conversation should end well, too. You can say, “I need to run now.” You may also say something like, “I really need to go. My class will start in 20 minutes.”
Now, go out and enjoy a good conversation!
16. How should we start a good conversation?
A. It is important for us to ask all the questions.
B. It is enough for us just to give one-word answers.
C. It needs two or more people to keep it going.
D. We should only learn to listen carefully.
17. What does the underlined phrase “common ground” in the second paragraph mean?
A. Different opinions. B. Proper replies.
C. Good examples. D. Shared interest.
18. Which of the following is NOT true about going on a good conversation according to the third paragraph?
A. When he finishes talking, ask some more questions.
B. Don’t allow your eyes to wander around as he talks.
C. Try your best to avoid yes/no questions.
D. When the other person is talking, do not cut in, but you can add your experience.
19. What is the best title of the passage?
A. The secrets of playing tennis.
B. The ways of making friends.
C. The secrets of a good conversation.
