When it comes to the historical figure I admire most, the first that comes to my mind is Li Shizhen, an outstanding medical scientist living in the Ming Dynasty.
He had a good command of medical skills and made intensive study of medicine, walking a long distance to search for new medical herbs and finding new ways of treatment. What's more, he devoted himself to treating patients, regardless of money, making it easy for the poor to get better and healthier. Above all, he wrote the world-famous monumental masterpiece Bencao Gangmu, which is of great benefit.
In my opinion, it was he who was the real hero. I have made up my mind to be a doctor like him and make contributions to people and the world.

Last weekend, we participated in "Getting to Know the Plants Around Us", an activity organized by the students' union.
Equipped with basic skills of scientifically observing and grouping/categorizing plants, we took a guided tour in the City Botanic Garden. There, not only did we try to identify and record different kinds of plant species, but we also had a deeper understanding of the roles plants play in making our world more habitable. The tour ended with an informative lecture by a botanist.
The experience was really eye-opening, exposing us to a colorful plant world and stimulating our love for nature.
