Many foods that we like, including chips, cookies and ice-cream, are over-processed (过度加工的). More seriously, you're addicted (上瘾的) to them, according to a study in the British Medical Journal.
What are over-processed foods? In short, you can't recreate them in your kitchen. They are usually made in factories, with long lists of additives (添加剂) inside.
The study looked into 281 other studies from 36 countries and regions. It found that over-processed food lovers may be strongly thirsty for such food. If they stop eating it, they can feel sad.
