M ilford Sound (米尔福德峡湾) is a sound on the southwestern coast of the South Island in New Zealand. It is called the "eighth wonder of the world". It has some of the most amazing natural sights.

*When you get to Milford Sound, you'll be ready for an overnight boat trip in this great sound. You'll see high mountains, big waterfalls, and many animals like dolphins, penguins and native birds.

New Zealand has two main islands. Along its 15,000-kilometer beach, there are high mountains, green valleys (山谷) and sandy beaches. There are 5.2 million people on both islands. 17% of them are Māori, the native (土著的) people. There are more sheep than people in New Zealand. For every person, there are six sheep.
New Zealand is smaller than Australia, but it has a rich cultural history. The Māori have a special past. They are known for the Haka, a war dance used to scare enemies (敌人) before. Now, New Zealand's national rugby (橄榄球) team do the Haka at the start of each match. The silver fern (银蕨) is a symbol of New Zealand. It can light up the way in the dark forest for the Māori.
Lastly, the word "kiwi" has different meanings. It can be a night-active bird, a green fruit that grows a lot on the North Island, or a person from New Zealand.

When you get to Milford Sound, you'll be ready for an overnight boat trip in this great sound.
The silver fern is a symbol of New Zealand. It can light up the way in the dark forest for the Māori.
It can be a night-active bird, a green fruit that grows a lot on the North Island, or a person from New Zealand.
