T he 9th Asian Winter Games officially ended in Harbin on February 14, 2025. This great event marked another important ice and snow celebration in China following the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The Games have improved the friendly relations among Asian countries.


According to the Games' report, 34 countries and areas, along with 1,275 players, took part in the event this year. The number set a record for the highest number of participants in the history of the event. Cambodia and Saudi Arabia made their first appearance in the Asian Winter Games.
The Games also saw breakthrough (突破) moments for Asian players. On February 8, Chinese cross-country skier Li Lei did her best in the women's sprint event, marking China's 100th gold medal in the history of the Asian Winter Games. As for Thailand, a man player won the first medal in Thailand's history at the Games.
The ice and snow sports brought together countries in Asia, showing the friendship and hope of Asia. *Although the Games have come to an end and the ice and snow in Harbin will finally melt (融化), the flame (火焰) of hope lit in the event will continue to shine brightly over Asia for a long time.
