T he Mona Lisa is thought to be the most famous painting in the world. It will be moved to its own exhibition space at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, in 2031. The French President announced (宣布) this plan to the public on January 28. He said it will alleviate (缓解) serious long lines caused by visitors. About 25,000 visitors go to see the painting each day.

The Mona Lisa was painted by Leonardo da Vinci in the early 1500s. Known for its subject's mysterious (神秘的) smile, it is now on show with more than ten other paintings in the museum's largest gallery (画廊). Guards (保安) keep the crowd moving, and each visitor has less than a minute to see the painting. The new gallery will have a special gate, and visitors will be able to buy a ticket just to see the Mona Lisa.
The changes are part of a larger project to fix the museum. It opened in 1793 in a building that dates as far back as the 1500s. *The president said the goal is to help more people to visit the Louvre each year.
