On hot summer days, nothing can cool you off better than cold drinks. Chinese and Americans both have their favorite summer drinks.
Sour plum drink, or suanmeitang, may be the most popular summer drink in China. It usually comes as a powder (粉末) or jam. You just need to put it in the water. The drink is sweet and sour.
Chinese people also like mung bean soup (绿豆汤) and chrysanthemum tea (菊花茶) in the summer.
In the US, lemonade is the first choice for many during the summer. They put lemon juice, sugar, water, and ice into a cup. That’s the simplest kind of lemonade. Sometimes people also put some fruit in it, like mango and watermelon.
But many people like a thicker (更浓郁的) drink. They may have a milkshake. Or they can easily get a Frappuccino (星冰乐) at Starbucks.
