In the period(时期)of Huangdi, in order to fight against the hot sun, a god named Kua Fu decided to have a race(赛跑)with the Sun, catch up with him and kill him. So he rushed after the Sun. Finally, he almost ran neck and neck with the Sun, when he was too thirsty and hot to continue. Where could he find some water? Just then the Yellow River and Weihe River came into sight. He drank the whole river. But he still felt thirsty and hot. So he went to the north for the lakes in the north of China. Unluckily, he fell down and died of thirst(口渴). His lane(跑道)became peach trees and his body became Kua Fu Mountain.
And so comes the idiom(习语), Kua Fu chased the Sun, which tells man’s determination(决心)to fight against nature.
