Ⅶ. 新素材 马拉松比赛的流行 (2025·安徽合肥包河区大联考期中)阅读理解
马拉松在中国逐渐流行起来,许多青少年积极参与。他们的目的不是取得好成绩,而是更好地理解生活。
Now, marathon races(马拉松比赛) in China are becoming more and more popular. The CAA says for the first 6 months of 2024, there were 133 plans of different marathon races. On March 26, over 300, 000 runners joined marathon races in 26 cities across the country.
To our surprise, teenagers(青少年) start loving it. Xu Qian, a 15-year-old boy from Jiangsu, loves running. He was the winner in the 5-kilometre Happy Run of Jingdong Suqian Marathon on April 2. Xu trained hard. “Unlike the 800-metre run at school, which is about how fast you run, a marathon race is a test for endurance(耐力考验),” he said. When he felt tired, he told himself not to give up. “When you run for such a long time, the only one you have to beat is yourself.”
The cheering from people along the way during the race is also important. It helped Li Zhouzi from Shanxi a lot. She ran a 3-kilometre Kid Run of the Berlin Marathon in Germany when she was 10. “When things got difficult, people from all over the world cheered me on. Even easy words like ‘keep it up’ let me keep going,” Li said. “Life is a marathon, too. It is about trying the best to finish the race not just looking at the difficulties. I only knew this after I met marathons. Before it, I was a quite different person...”
