It also tries to show how fun and useful the banana is.
While bananas are believed to have originated in Southeast Asia, mainly in India. They made their way west in 327 BC, and finally bananas ended up in Europe. By the 1870s, bananas made their way to the Caribbean. There the bananas were first used as micro-crops(微观作物), which means growing one crop that helps another crop to grow. In the end, bananas became a valuable crop in their own field though.
The popularity of bananas in the West grew throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s. As they became cheaper and more common, bananas were added to special dishes, or used for making foods like banana bread.
