Molly had a bad day today. This morning, when she got out of bed, she stepped on her favorite doll and broke its head off. When she went to brush her teeth, she dropped her toothbrush.
At breakfast, Molly dropped her breakfast plate on the floor. One of her pancakes even flew up to the ceiling and didn’t fall back down!
After breakfast, Molly looked at her watch and found she was already late. She usually takes the school bus to school, but today she missed it and had to take a taxi to school.
When Molly arrived at school, she found she had forgotten to bring her math homework. And in the P.E. class, she tripped and her knee was hurt badly.
“I had a bad day,” Molly cried, throwing herself on her bed after she came home.
“What’s the matter, Molly?” her mom asked. Then Molly told her mom about what had happened in the day. “I know what will make you happy. Come with me,” her mom said. They walked down the street to the park. Mom pushed Molly on the swing.
“It’s fun,” Molly laughed. Swinging is always her favorite thing.
“This is for you,” her mom said and handed Molly a pretty red flower. “Do you feel better now?”
