Today’s American students can expect several graduation ceremonies throughout their life: preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, college and beyond, increasing opportunities for family members to cherish the photos forever. Graduation announcements(毕业典礼请柬) are common in America. Many families tend to create and send custom announcements.
Unlike in America, graduation ceremonies in the UK are not typical below the university level. University commencement ceremonies(毕业典礼) are similar to those in America, with graduates taking part in a procession(队列) and their names being called aloud to receive graduation certificates.
High school graduates in Sweden wearing sea-captain-style hats meet at school. They begin singing and chanting as they make their way out of the school as a group. Outside of the school, their families are gathered, holding signs for each student, often with embarrassing childhood pictures of the graduates. Family and friends present the graduates with small gifts tied to ribbons(丝带) and place the ribbons around the graduates’ necks. The graduates then jump into pickup truck beds and parade floats, driving around town, waving and celebrating the day with the community.
College graduates in China were limited to some established traditions, but today’s graduates are mostly allowed to celebrate the graduation as they wish. In recent years, female graduates tend to avoid graduation gowns and caps and choose rented wedding dresses.
