B(2024·南京鼓楼期中)
①Jocelyn doesn’t have many friends, but she has lots of books. Books are better than friends sometimes. Books don’t get angry at you. Books don’t feel sad when you don’t see them for some time.
②Jocelyn likes fantasy(奇幻) books. They have lots of adventures(冒险). She feels like she is in them. She can be a princess(公主) or an adventurer. She can save the day. She can see lots of monsters(怪物) and amazing places. It is great to read about fantasy.
③Sometimes she likes history books, too. It is interesting to see how people lived in the past. She tries to think about what life was like before. That is exciting!
④Jocelyn also likes science books. She likes books about animals. There are so many different animals in the world. They come in every shape, size, and colour. There are so many things that aren’t even at the zoo. It is hard to think about how many different animals there are. It makes her want to be a zoologist, so she can travel and see new animals.

答案:
根据第二段第一句“Jocelyn likes fantasy books.”,第三段第一句“Sometimes she likes history books, too.”和第四段第一句“Jocelyn also likes science books.”
根据第四段最后一句中“so she can travel and see new animals”可推知,“zoologist”是能够旅行并看到新的动物的人,应该是动物学家。
通读全文,文章讲述了爱读书的乔思林的故事,抓住最后一段最后一句“Books are great, but they are better with friends to talk to about them!”
