Maybe we did not feel it at that time. But in September, there was shaking under our feet for more than a week. Now, scientists find that it is because of global (全球) warming.
The shaking came from the earth’s crust. It is the shell of the earth, just like the skin of an apple. It lasted for nine days and went across the whole world.
The study shows that it started in eastern Greenland. Because of global warming, at the foot of a mountain, the ice got thin. It couldn’t carry the rocks on it, and the 1,200-meter-high mountain came into small pieces. The rocks all fell down into the sea. This made a really big tsunami. It was about 110 meters high. Over the next few days, the water moved back and ahead, hitting the cliffs.
Luckily, nobody was hurt. But the scientists believe more things like this will take place because the world is getting warmer.

根据“Maybe we did not feel it at that time. But in September, there was shaking under our feet for more than a week. Now, scientists find that it is because of global(全球) warming.”可推知,“it”指代前面提到的shaking under our feet,即地面的摇晃。故选D。
37.A 【点拨】细节理解题。根据“The shaking came from the earth’s crust. It is the shell of the earth”可知,摇晃来自地壳,地壳就是地球的外壳。故选A。
38.B 【点拨】逻辑排序题。根据“at the foot of a mountain, the ice got thin. It couldn’t carry the rocks on it, and the 1,200-meter-high mountain came into small pieces. The rocks all fell down into the sea. This made a really big tsunami...Over the next few days, the water moved back and ahead, hitting the cliffs.”可知顺序为①→③→②→④。故选B。
39.D 【点拨】推理判断题。根据“the scientists believe more things like this will take place because the world is getting warmer”可知全球变暖会持续引起各种类似的变化,也就意味着全球变暖将持续改变世界。故选D。
