The Secret Garden is one of the most popular children's books of the twentieth century. However, many adults like it too. Mary Lennox's parents died in India because of a terrible disease. She went to her uncle's house in England at the age of ten instead of staying in India. She found the secret garden and worked in it with Dickon, a local boy. Then she discovered her cousin Colin, who was ill and clouldn't walk. With the support of Mary, Dickon and the secret garden, Colin got well.
When the writer Burnett wrote the book, she believed that everything could be cured in nature. And her another idea was the power of positive thinking. In the story, the garden changed Mary from an eccentric(古怪的)child into a happy child, and Colin could walk again when he began to think positively.
