In a park in Beijing, two gray-white “robot dogs” catch people's eye. They are walking well, and their metal bodies are shining in the sun. These clever machines are not toys. They are for a smart city plan.
On March 8, 2025, Beijing E-Town said it improved its patrol system Now, 18 self-driving(自驾) cars, 15 human-driven cars and 2 robot dogs work together. The robot dogs are about 65 kg in weight. They have special cameras on their heads. They can carry tools like lights or gas detectors(气体探测器) on their backs. They can work in any weather.
China cares about robot dogs. Many companies are trying to build robot dogs. In 2024, a company showed a robot dog doing flips and jumps. Experts say by 2030, there will be over 400,000 robot dogs for sale in China.
Why are they popular? They are strong and smart. They can go to places where humans can't—like small spaces or dangerous areas. In Beijing E-Town, they help make cities safer.
Kids in the park say hello to the robot dogs. One kid said, “They look like big dogs, but they're superheroes!” These robot dogs are part of China's high-tech future.

由第二段中“They have special cameras on their heads. They can carry tools like lights or gas detectors on their backs. They can work in any weather.”
由倒数第二段中“They can go to places where humans can’t—like small spaces or dangerous areas.”
