An 84-year-old woman named Tao Xidi did 3,000-meter skydiving(跳伞运动) in Jingmen City in September, 2024. Even at her age, Tao still stays in good health and loves trying new things. One day, she read a piece of news about a 102-year-old foreign woman's skydiving. Tao thought, "If she can do it, why can't I make it?" So she decided to give it a try.
Tao's 63-year-old daughter, Guo, had already done skydiving before her mother. She has a good understanding of the sport. When she learned her mother wanted to have a try, Guo found a skydiving place for her. On the day of the jump, Guo drove her mother to the place. The coach there first made sure of Tao's health. Then, Tao signed an agreement(签署协议) and took some lessons. After everything was ready, Tao and her coach got on the plane with two other travelers. When the plane climbed to 3,000 meters, Tao was excited and even made a peace sign in the sky.
With her coach's help, Tao jumped from the plane. At 1,500 meters, the parachute(降落伞) opened. Was she scared? No, she enjoyed the experience. Seven minutes later, Tao touched down on the ground.
"I did it! It was fun!" Tao said. Her coach said that Tao was the oldest person to try skydiving at his place.
