Every time you eat seafood, you get red spots
on your face or

body. And every spring, your friend gets a runny nose when he plays in the park. What’s going on? Well, you and your friend may have allergies.
An allergy is a reaction from your immune system(免疫系统反应). The immune system keeps you away from illnesses by fighting germs(细菌). But when you meet things like grass, pollen or some food, it overreacts and tries to fight hard against them. Then you have an allergy and this makes your body uncomfortable.
Allergies are common around the world. According to the WHO, about 20 percent of the world’s population have allergies.
Food allergies are one of the most common kinds. Many children can be allergic to food like milk, eggs and peanuts.
If you are allergic to certain food, you may get red spots, have an upset stomach or even have difficulty breathing. So far, people haven’t found any good ways to stop food allergies. Just do not eat those foods.
Seasonal(季节性的) allergies happen in most parts of the world. When spring comes, pollen is

everywhere in the air. And some people begin to sneeze, itch(发痒) or get a runny nose. When it’s the pollen season, try to stay inside. Pollen is usually at the most amount during mid-morning, early evening and windy days.
Some people are also allergic to pets and medicine. A small number of people have allergies to red meat or even water!
So how do you know if you are allergic to something? Skin(皮肤) tests are the most used. Doctors take a drop of allergy testing medicine and put it on your skin. Then, they wait to see if your skin around the drop becomes red. Once you know what you are allergic to, the best thing to do is to try not to get close to those things.

答案:
76. 根据第二段“The immune system keeps you away from illnesses by fighting germs(细菌). But when you meet things like grass, pollen or some food, it overreacts and tries to fight hard against them.”
78. 由第四段“If you are allergic to certain food, you may get red spots, have an upset stomach or even have difficulty breathing.”
79. 依据最后一段“Once you know what you are allergic to, the best thing to do is to try not to get close to those things.”
80. 从第五段“Pollen is usually at the most amount during mid - morning, early evening and windy days.”
76. protect
77. examples
78. breathe
79. keep/stay away
80. especially
