三、任务型阅读。
As one of the best - loved children's books of all time, The Wind in the Willows has delighted readers of all ages for many years.
The Wind in the Willows, written by Kenneth Grahame, was first published (出版) in 1908. It is a novel for children and also a classic story of adventure and friendship. The main characters of the story are some lovely animals, such as Mole, Rat, Toad and Badger. These four animals are good friends and they like to share their happiness and problems with each other. Friendly Rat, mild - mannered Mole, wise Badger, and kind but conceited Toad all live on the banks of the Thames. Rat is patient with his new friend, Mole. Mole leaves his underground home and shows great interest in a river. Then he is invited by Rat to travel on the river and live with him. When Badger is needed by his friends, he will always be ready to help. Toad enjoys the excitement of motor cars. He does things without thinking twice. While his friends try to keep him out of trouble, his love for cars finally results in his being caught and kept prisoner in the remotest dungeon of the best - guarded castle. Somehow, he has to escape and get home, but what will he find when he gets there?
The Wind in the Willows is a book for those “who keep the spirit of youth alive in them”. The importance of friendship is one of the main themes(主题) of the story.
