French schools are trying out a ban(禁令) on mobile phones. From autumn 2024, students starting a new year at 200 middle schools have to leave their phones in lockers(寄物柜) or a room for the whole day.
The French government has already banned children up to the age of 15 from using phones at school—but now they won’t even be allowed to carry them around. The government said the trial(试验) would give children a “mobile phone break”. If it is successful, all middle schools will bring in the ban from January 2025.
The trial follows an earlier report about the bad results of screen time on children. It was written by experts on children’s mental health. And it said that too much screen time can stop children and young people from getting enough sleep or physical exercise, as well as increasing stress.
A main leader in the French government said too much screen time has raised all kinds of problems. To deal with this, the report said that phones should be introduced in stages, with parents and teachers helping to do this. The report suggested no mobile phones before the age of 11; phones with no internet until 13; and phones with internet but no chance of social media(网络社交媒体) until age 15.
“We must put mobile phones in their place,” said Servane Mouton, a doctor who helped write the report.

B. From December 2024.
C. From January 2025.
D. From March 2025.
② Which is NOT mentioned as a bad result of too much screen time?
A. Increasing children’s stress.
B. Causing children to get less sleep.
C. Making children lose interest in learning.
D. Making children do less physical exercise.

④ What can we know from the passage?

根据第二段最后一句“If it is successful, all middle schools will bring in the ban from January 2025.”
根据第二段第一句中的“The French government has already banned children up to the age of 15 from using phones at school”可知,法国政府已经禁止15岁以下的儿童在学校使用手机。
