Meet the characters
Flik: He is a worker ant (工蚁). He likes making new things.
Atta: She is an ant princess (公主). She tries her best to help her ants.
Hopper: He is the head of the grasshoppers (蚱蜢). He is greedy.
What's the story about?
There is an ant island (岛). Thousands of ants live there. The ants work hard. They spend all summer collecting food. But the food is not for themselves. There are a group of bad grasshoppers. They come and take the food every year.
This year, the ants have a problem. They can't give the grasshoppers food. But grasshoppers ask for more food. So the ants can't bear (承受) any more. An ant named Flik stands out. He goes out and finds a group of circus bugs (马戏虫). They will help fight the grasshoppers.
On the island, the bugs save Dot, Atta's young sister. From a big bird, Flik gets an idea. The grasshoppers are afraid of birds. So Flik makes a bird. But Hopper finds out that it's not a real bird. So he beats (打) Flik. However, Flik doesn't stop fighting. He calls all the bugs and the ants to stand up. They drive the grasshoppers out of the ant island.

2. B
解析:根据“But grasshoppers ask for more food.”
3. A
解析:根据“the bugs save Dot”可知是马戏虫救了Dot,不是Flik,故选A。

Do you hear of hermit crabs (寄居蟹)? They are a type of ocean animal. They used to stay in the sand or water and like eating different kinds of foods. But as people throw more and more rubbish into the ocean, the rubbish has become the "home" of hermit crabs. 1. ______
D

Unlike other crabs, hermit crabs are born with soft bodies, so they need to look for shells (壳) for protection. 2. ______
E
Then they use legs to check (核实) shells to make sure they fit. Do you think they only use a shell? No. As they grow, they give up old shells and find bigger ones. In their lifetime, they may use lots of shells.
Plastic (塑料) rubbish is lighter than common shells. 3. ______
A
It may also help hermit crabs to attract (吸引) lovers. Because man-made "shells" might be interesting in lovers' eyes.
4. ______
C
Different from natural shells, plastic waste is often more colorful. It might stand out (显眼) on the ground. This makes hermit crabs easier to be seen by their enemies (敌人). Hermit crabs could also die when they go into plastic bottles.
A. So hermit crabs can move easily.
B. Once they find a shell, they will live in it.
C. However, the rubbish shells can bring danger.
D. Why do hermit crabs choose to live in rubbish?
E. First they look at the shell's type, size and color.
2. E
解析:根据“Then they use legs to check shells...”
3. A
