Originally discovered in the late 1920s, the Sanxingdui Ruins have been regarded as one of the world's greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century.
Located in China's Sichuan Province, the ruins covering an area of 12 square kilometres are believed to be the remnants of the ancient Shu Kingdom, dating back to about 4,500 to 3,000 years ago.
In recent years, more and more relics have been discovered at the legendary Sanxingdui Ruins site, greatly increasing the total number of items discovered at Sanxingdui.
The relics discovered at the site, including golden masks and bronze wares, were exquisitely (精致地) built and uniquely shaped, their historical value as well as the display of creativity dazzling archaeologists.
"The new discoveries demonstrate once again that imagination and creativity of the ancient Chinese far surpassed what people today had expected," said one of the archaeologists who directed the excavation.
The archaeologist added that there are more items yet to be unearthed, which are expected to challenge the conventional wisdom of archaeologists.
