The Bell Tower sits at the very center of Xi'an. It is 36 meters high. It was built in 1384 and moved to its current location in 1582. Four busy roads cross just under the tower. Visitors need to use an underground walkway to reach the tower. Inside the tower, there is a small museum that houses a huge bell as well as some handwritten records on the history of the tower.
The Drum Tower is about 200 meters to the northwest of the Bell Tower. It is a small building. It lies next to a busy street where many restaurants and shops are located.
