三、阅读理解
People in China celebrate the Lantern Festival in many ways. The most important thing is to watch lantern shows. There are all kinds of lanterns, such as those in the shapes of animals, fruit, flowers and buildings. Some lanterns are even made to look like famous people or characters from stories. They are so beautiful and colorful.

Lantern-making is also a very popular Chinese folk art. Do you know how people make these colorful lanterns? He Weifu, a famous lantern maker in Shanghai, has the answer. To make a lantern, he creates a skeleton (骨架) first with iron wires (铁丝) and colored paper. This is the most difficult step. The skeletons are in different shapes. He often spends a long time in studying the animals and the characters he wants to make. After making the skeleton, he glues (粘贴) cloth onto it and draws pictures on the cloth.
His family has a long history of making lanterns. His grandfather, He Keming started making lanterns when he was 13 years old. One day, he went to see a Lantern Festival show. A dragon lantern caught his eyes. He looked at it carefully and tried to make one by himself. From then on, he was really into lantern-making and finally became very famous. He took up this folk art all his life.
"I hope more people around the world can enjoy this great art," said He Weifu.
