一、阅读理解
Nowadays, more and more people take part in outdoor dangerous sports. The usual sports like playing basketball and swimming can't attract (吸引) them. Instead, they have fun in climbing the highest mountain, traveling into unknown places on the earth, going through thick forests and so on.
Jack, from the USA, works in a big company. He is a sports lover. To look for new excitement, he got interested in bungee jumping (蹦极) 3 years ago. And he flew to take it when he had holidays.
“So far, I have tried bungee jumping 160 times in different countries. Though it lasts for only a few minutes or seconds, I enjoy the feeling of my body flying through the wind.”
Another man, Paul, is from England. He often joins in different kinds of motorcycling racing on weekends.
“My weekdays are safe but not interesting. There are rules everywhere in my life. But when I have matches, I can ride my motorcycle as fast as possible. I feel free at that moment.”
Maybe it's very difficult for us to understand such people like Jack and Paul and the happiness from dangerous sports. But we can know more after reading their stories. I'm a common (平凡的) person and I don't have enough time or money to travel around the world and do things I want to do. But reading opens my window. This is why I like it. Love it, and you'll grow better.
