PASSAGE
难度:★☆☆

Classic
(经典美文)
words: 182 time: 6 min.
Most people think plants can't walk or talk. And they can't think like us. 1 The Green Planet reveals (揭示) the secret lives of plants in the same way The Blue Planet opened our eyes to the oceans.

2 So do plants. In tropical rainforests (热带雨林), different kinds of plants race for sunlight. The forest floor is described as a "battlefield" in The Green Planet as only 2% of the sunlight filters (过滤) through it.
3 In deserts, the roots (根) of euphrates poplar (胡杨) are connected. If a tree finds water, it will share it with others through the roots. Studies also show that plants use fungus (真菌) in the soil as a way to "talk" to each other. It's kind of like how Wi-Fi works. 4
The Green Planet not only lets us be surprised at the plant world but makes us know that plants are important. 5 Let's call on more people to protect plants.
Choose one proper option to complete the passage. There is one option left.
A.Each species (物种) has its own ways of defense (防御措施).
B.If a tomato plant gets a leaf disease, it can tell nearby plants about it.
C.Plants also help each other and even communicate.
D.However, a new film—The Green Planet, gives us a new look at plants.
E.Why do plants so important?
F.So everyone should look after wild plants just as carefully as our houseplants.
1.____ 2.____ 3.____ 4.____ 5.____
