五、阅读短文,根据短文内容选择正确答案。
Most people, especially children, like flying kites. The two most important things you need to successfully fly your kite are plenty of open space and proper wind speed for your kite.
It's best to choose an open area free of trees, buildings, and dangerous obstacles(障碍物)like overhead power lines. If you're planning on flying a stunt kite, make sure every watcher knows to stay behind you. Stunk kite string is stronger and thinner than common kite string and can be very dangerous when flying close to the ground at high speed.
Most kites need proper wind speed. Check to see that the wind speed in the area you've chosen is within the recommended guidelines for your kite when measured by a wind meter called the Beaufort scale(蒲福风级). The Beaufort scale is a technique developed by sailors estimating(估计) wind speed by observing how objects such as trees and flags are affected by the wind. Fly your kites with wind of 5 to 25 mph(miles per hour). This kind of wind speed works for most kites, although medium wind speed is ideal(理想). If the wind is too strong or too light for your kite, you may have problems getting it to fly properly.
