Are you one of those people who are always suffering(遭受) setbacks(挫折)? Do you sometimes feel that the universe is out to get you? In fact, bad days often come in everybody's life. I faced a bad day in my life.
It was a rainy day. My parents went to attend the marriage celebration of one of my relatives in the next village. I thought I needed a shelf in my bathroom to put my shampoo and body lotion. So I decided to put up one myself. It was not a hard job for me. Last weekend, I bought everything from the DIY shop. The shopkeeper was so warm-hearted that he gave me clear instructions. I was so confident that I could do it very well. But I made a mistake. The boards were not fixed well on the wall. When I put some things on it, all of them fell down.
At first, I didn't lose heart. I read the instructions again and went on to fix it. I kept on hammering(用锤子敲) the nails(钉子) into the wall. But I was careless and I hit the pipe. As a result, there was water everywhere. Then I spent nearly two hours making the floor clean again. I was so tired after that.
What should I do? I had to call my neighbor for help. Luckily, he knew what to do with the problem. When all the work was done, he said to me, “If you are interested in DIY, you should take a course first.”
Maybe he is right.
