The medicine prevents a gene called USAG-1 from working. This gene is responsible for stopping tooth buds (牙蕾) in our mouth from ever growing into either ba

y or adult teeth. Researchers tested the medicine on mice, which have tooth buds similar to humans'. And th

y found that the new teeth grew successfully.
Reportedly, a Japanese medical company will test the medicine on humans in the next few months. Dr Takahashi s

s, "The medicine could help people who have an unusual disease called anodontia. The disease is when humans have no teeth at all in childhood or adulthood. " After the necessary tests, the researchers hope to make the medicine available to treat (治疗) kids aged 2 to 6 who have signs of this disease.
Dr Takahashi adds that he hopes the new medicine could be a new choice for those who want a full and natural smile. Some people are afraid to smile because of their bad teeth. And th
