人与社会·人际关系 (2024山西三模)
请阅读下面语篇,根据每段内容,从方框内所给的选项中选出适当的小标题。
For a long time, my friend has advised me to say no often, so that I can concentrate on what matters most. Personally, I’ve found his advice to be of great advantage. Saying no is indeed a skill, but so is saying yes. I’ve noticed several areas where people don’t want to say yes. Here’s what I suggest you say YES to.
A.Say yes to fun
B.Say yes to chances
C.Say yes to challenges
D.Say yes to life
E.Say yes to better relationships
34
You may wonder why you should add more tasks to your already busy life. There are certain things you might have good reasons to refuse, but say yes to those that can help you grow. They are good for your personal development. You are likely to perform best when faced with challenging situations.
35
Sometimes chances find you, but more often, you have to look for them. Join groups that challenge and encourage you. Communicate with people who are making things happen. And when you do find chances, don’t miss them out of laziness.
36
It’s true that too much fun can be boring. However, in some cases, it’s also easy to become so focused on our work that we forget to enjoy it. Sometimes you can make even the most mundane (平凡的) tasks enjoyable with the right attitude and energy.
37
If you are constantly networking and meeting new people, you may give too little attention to the old friends you already have. Spending time with those who are important to you is always something worth saying yes to.
38
Don’t always say no to things you don’t like. When you say yes, you’re making a choice to learn from everything that life puts in front of you. It might be difficult at first, and even painful at times. However, if you continue, you will find the joy of being in an active talk to the world.

请阅读下面短文,从每小题所给的A、B、C三个选项中,选出一个最佳选项。
Are you happy most of the time? Or do you easily get angry sometimes? Everyone has a different temperament (性格). It’s usually believed that both genes(基因) and environment may influence people’s temperament in different ways. Scientists have found that the season of birth also plays a role.
Scientists from Budapest, Hungary, studied 400 university students. In the study, the students needed to finish some questions to know which of the four kinds of temperament they had. From the answers, scientists found that the students always answered something like “My mood often changes for no reason” and “I love to deal with new projects, even if they are risky.” These answers were then connected with their birthdays.
They discovered that people born in summer more easily change between sad and happy moods, compared with the people born in winter. Those who always feel positive are mostly born in spring or summer.
The study also found that those born in autumn less probably had a mood of depression which may easily drive them to cry, while those born in winter were not easy to be angry.
Scientists said that this was probably because the seasons had an influence on certain chemicals in the human body. And the chemicals are important in controlling people’s moods even in adult life. “It seems that when you are born may increase or decrease your chance of developing certain mood disorders(紊乱),” scientist Xenia Gonda said.
44.What do not influence a person’s temperament?
A.Interests. B.Genes. C.Birthdays.
45.Which of the following is true about the study?
A.They did the study in 400 universities.

C.The answers were not related to the season of birth.

A.A person born in autumn.
B.A person born in summer.
C.A person born in winter.
47.What’s the meaning of the underlined word “depression”?

There are many natural mysteries and wonders in the world. Here are some of them.
Fossil(化石) footprints
About 11,000 years ago, some ancient humans went for a muddy walk in Africa. They left more than 400 footprints, which became fossils. It’s the largest collection of ancient African footprints ever found. 49 And they have learned more about the people who left them.
All of the footprints came from feet. Scientists found the footprints of 17 people who probably walked together. The footprints were all traveling in the same direction and at the same speed. From the size of the footprints, scientists think the group was mostly adult women. 50
Snakes stick together
Can snakes be friends? Some scientists recently found the answer by closely watching 40 young garter snakes. These small, harmless snakes are common in North America. Scientists divided the snakes into 10 groups. Then they put each group into a small space together for eight days. 51 Each snake liked to stay together with certain snakes more than others. Even when scientists moved them around, the snakes often went back to their same friends. Snakes are known for being unfriendly but it’s not always true, scientists say.
How koalas get water
All living things need water. But they get it in different ways. You drink water from a glass. Plants take it in with their roots(根). 52 But scientists have discovered that koalas have another way to get water:They lick(舔) trees.
People noticed the surprising behavior while watching wild koalas in Australia. During rainstorms or right after, rainwater dropped down from tree trunks. 53 One koala was so thirsty that it kept licking a wet tree trunk for more than 30 minutes without stopping.
A.Scientists have studied all the footprints.
B.They found that snakes do seem to have friends.
C.They may have been out gathering food together.
D.Koalas are animals that only live in Australia.

文化意识·文化理解 (2024山西浑源期末改编)
Gift giving is common. Over time, different cultures have developed their own gift-giving customs and traditions.
Gift giving in China
In China, gifts are given for birthdays or special events like a dinner at a friend’s home.
While it’s true that a gift is just a gift, what is more important is the meaning behind the gift. In China, some gifts need to be avoided including clocks, shoes, umbrellas, knives, green hats, anything in groups of four and anything in black or white.
| Gift Wrapping (包装) | |
| ---- | ---- |
| Chinese gifts can be wrapped with wrapping paper. Red is for luck. Pink is for happiness. Gold is for wealth (财富). So wrapping paper in these colors is the best. White and black are the symbols of death and should not be used. | Red Envelopes(红包) |
| Wrapping money in a red envelope means good wishes. People usually give red envelopes to kids during Chinese New Year. | |
Gift giving in America
Whether a gift is given or not, greeting cards are often used for birthdays, Christmas, Father’s/Mother’s Day, weddings(婚礼), and Easter. In America, common gifts are candies or toys for children, and fine food, books, clothes and tools for adults.
After receiving a gift, people show thanks to the person by saying “Thank you so much.” or “This is too nice.” Hugs or kisses may be exchanged. Returning gifts is not a must, but thank-you cards are very common. And they should usually be sent out in the same week when the gifts are received.
| Gift Opening | |
| ---- | ---- |
| In America, gifts are usually opened face to face at an event or a birthday party, except for the wedding. Gifts are never opened during a wedding. They can be opened only after all the guests have left. | |
