请阅读下面语篇,根据其内容回答问题。
#### UK vs US manners
Britons might often complain, but they don't usually do it right away, says BBC writer Ruth Margolis. They prefer to grumble (发牢骚) afterward.
The reason is that Britons don't like to bother people or cause a fuss (麻烦). Margolis says, “For example, I'd rather leave that piece of raw chicken on my plate than complain to the restaurant staff. But be careful: if you're eating with an American and this happens, they'll probably speak up for you and might not understand why you feel embarrassed.”
In a BBC blog post, Margolis talks about some cultural differences between the UK and the US. She mentions a few things Americans do that Britons might find offensive(冒犯的).
**Not Making Introductions**
At parties, Americans don't always introduce their new friends to their other friends. They expect strangers to introduce themselves. But Margolis says most Britons don't like this because it makes them uncomfortable to talk to strangers without someone helping.
**Using “Quite”**
In the US, people often say “quite” to mean “very”. But if you're invited to a dinner party in Britain, don't call the meal “quite good” if you want to give high praise. To Britons, “quite” makes the “good” sound less than it really is. It means the meal was okay, but could have been better.
**Money Talk**
Americans can talk about money for a long time without feeling awkward(令人尴尬的). But for Britons, Margolis says, “Talking about how much we earn is unthinkable—almost as much as discussing our feelings.”
**Over - politeness**
In the US, it's common for strangers to greet you as “honey” or “sweetie”. But Margolis says Britons find fake(假的) friendliness, especially in stores, really annoying. She says, “I don't want shop assistants to be rude, but I also don't want to waste energy answering someone who's just been paid to ask, ‘How are you today? ’”
